Crush Grind Mechanisms are press fit or glued into the pepper mill with epoxy. The first type of CrushGrind® has a 10" shaft that can make a mill 4" to 12" tall. The shaft is easily trimmed to make smaller sizes. The second type of CrushGrind® does not use a shaft. It is used for mills 3" up to 8". Easily filled through the bottom by loosening the adjustment knob.
