The primary function of the Carter M-Chuck™ is to turn off the center nubs left from the initial turning with the Perfect Sphere™ System. Then it is used for all final shaping, sanding or finishing required. The system includes two 2" anodized aluminum heads with removable and replaceble non-marring urethane cups that can accommodate most spheres from 2" to 6" in diameter. Larger cups will be available in the future along with other inserts for jam chucking and more.
This M-Chuck System comes complete with two aluminum M-Chuck™ heads with 3/4 by 10 internal threads, two 2" urethane sphere cups and one #2 Morse taper for the drive side. A live center with a threaded 3/4 10 live center for the tail stock is needed to support the tailstock cup. This live center is original equipment on the Oneway, Powermatic and Jet 1642 Lathes. If you don't have a 3/4 10 threaded live center, we also sell a Live Center version of the M-Chuck which has a bearing and fits any lathe with a #2MT tailstock.Includes: 2 aluminum heads with removable urethane cups, one #2 Morse Taper adaptor for headstock drive side.
