This precision steel Convertor is designed for turners who want to use a wooden dowel in place of the aluminum fittings that join the two lid pieces. The Treen Converter threads on the Lid Mandrel making it an internal expanding collet chuck that fits into the 1/2� hole in each lid piece. The lid pieces can then be turned and assembled with a short piece of 1/2� dowel.
