Purpleheart (Peltogyne paniculata) grows in Central and South America. It's a dense, hard wood with a medium texture which requires sharp tools and frequen sharpening. It will age from a purplish brown to a deeper eggplant purple. Continued exposure to light will eventually turn the wood a dark brown. Our pen blanks measure 3/4" square and vary in length from 5" to 6". They are sold in packs of 5.
