The Jet 1642 Lathe represents a great value in the lathe market. Special features include a Sliding Headstock to allow short bed or larger diameter outboard turning using a floor stand. The stand features cast in webbings to accept 2"x4's or a 2"x12 to build a tool or ballast shelf. A wire mesh tool basket is included to keep tools close at hand. The 1642 is available with a 1-1/2hp 110V motor with an AC Variable speed Inverter with Reversing. This drive system provides smooth variable speed control with digital read-out on the headstock.
