Slip Stones

We now offer both a natural Hard Arkansas and a man made Carbide Slipstone. Both are great for honing the flutes of gouges. They have flat sides that can be used for honing the bevels of tools. Both stones measure 2” wide by 4” long with a 3/8” half-round on the top and an 1/8” half-round on the bottom edge. Both Slip Stones work best when using honing oil or water as a cutting lubricant, but can be used dry.
