When sharpening high speed steel lathe tools, the wheel on your grinder can become glazed, concave, and full of metal particles. This condition keeps your grinding wheel from cutting efficiently and generates more heat during grinding. To keep your grinding wheel in good condition, it should be dressed (cleaned of metal particles) as often as possible. This dresser is also excellent for truing up out of round wheels. This New Improved Dresser has 1.3 karats of diamond chips, suspended in a matrix at the top of a 1" wide head which gives a large surface to contact your grinding wheel, making it easy to get a smooth flat surface.
