Replacing the dead center that comes with a lathe is a must for good vibration-free work. Many turners use a 60˚ cone center when making pens, peppermills, weed pots and general turning. The Revolving Cone center allows for centering a workpiece that has a hole sized from 1/8" to 1-1/8" in diameter. Tje smaller body diameter of 1" body diameter gives more room to work on smaller projects. These centers made in  Great Britian are precision engineered, have a 1/2" diameter, 60˚ hardened point and two sealed, lubricated for life ball bearings.
