These optional Jaws are made for holding larger bowls when a larger gripping area is needed. They may also be used to expand into a dovetail recess or grip on a spigot or tenon. The arc of the jaw is interupted by the hole for the outer screw. This does not affect the function but could slightly marr the spigot in softer woods.
